Hi guys. I might be getting a P. VN. Pastueri in a few months. As day geckos go, i am only keeping and have only had experience with standingi. I was wondering if anyone here keeps them or has had experience with them and knows how much more difficult they are to keep than standingi and are there any tips you have? Cheers,

Ed

Go with the High Tropical vivarium type.
Mist twice / day(a third time right before lights out is nice when it's warm). Provide plenty of plants and some bamboo tubes to hide in. They love the Respashy 2 part mix. I have read that they are skittish and secretive. However, mine is not that secretive and I can usually see it out and about being nosy. It always enthusiatically and aggressively comes out into the open whenever it is feeding time. Even when I mist it sometimes just stays put not minding the spray.

Clay granulate is the best choice in my opinion. I use only that for my Phelsuma, because it can absorp lot of water and so keeps your humidity constant.

I use naturalistic terrariums, so lots of plants in a coco husk/plantation soil mix, on top of some gardening fabric and clay balls. Since he needs a lot more humidity then standings, this seems to work pretty good for me!

Ok, I've got a 30x30x45 exo terra viv, 20w hallogen heat lamp, bromiliads and bamboo. I'll get a 5% uv light, day light lamp (high CRI and colour temperature), thermostat for the heat lamp and some coco substrate. Does this sound ok.

Is misting heavily once a day enough or should i do it twice?

Misting once a day is enough. Do that an hour or two before you turn off the light.
