Here is my male O. Castelnaui. In the head shot I believe that I caught the red glow from the pupil. Never seen this before in a picture. Photos were taken with two different cameras. First two were with a Canon digital p/s and the last two were using a Canon DSLR.

I don't keep my Oedura in anything large or elaborate. Just a 19qt tall Rubbermaid container from I think Target. With some red sand, flat cork bark and some fake plants. I use glad tupperware for a nest box with a hole on top. I use belly heat with them at about 90F on the hot spot. I didn't go out of my way to cool them this winter because of the wide range in temps within the container so they just cooled with the seasonal change here in SoCal. Seems to have worked out OK. I'm getting fertile eggs. When I build a rack for my Oedura I'll probably go with larger containers that they have at The Container Store but for now this is alright. Plenty of room.

Are these guys pretty easy to keep? How are they breeding wise? How many clutches will a female lay on average?
