B. dubai questions

I am becoming more and more interested in obtaining B. dubai for my geckos, and have a few questions.
Do the roaches need a special breeding material like crickets (cup-o-dirt)?
Do the roach nymphs need to be separated? What will happen if they aren't and how hard is it to separate them?
What are some setup options I have? I hear eggcrate style is the best, but wouldn't it be hard to find the nymphs?
Can all forms of the roach be fed, nymphs, adults, etc. (mealworm/superworm adults are beetles and may not be good for the lizards)?
What are some good vendors for them/which vendor would you suggest?
Thanks!

I'll answer some of your questions. Dubia are the finest feeder I have found.

1. No, they don't need any fancy medium to breed. Just have the temperature warm (Above 70, generally) and they will breed.

2. a. They don't need to be separated, but sometimes it helps if you need to feed a certain sized lizard. I have several leopard geckos, and they each can handle all but the large females. I will be getting some smaller geckos so I separated my roaches by taking anything smaller than a sub-adult and separating them from the adults.
b. Nothing bad will happen if they aren't separated, provided they have plenty of food and water (I have never had a problem with cannibalism). You even can see large females brooding/guarding their young. They can be hard to move from over their babies sometimes.
c. There are several methods to separating them. It can get time consuming, but I just pick the sizes I want out of the main container. Look on "The Roach Guy"'s website. He has a way to separate them that seems relatively easy.

3. I just have a basic setup and they breed like crazy. A good sized Sterilite container with a couple of rows of vertical egg cartons so frass falls to the bottom with a jar lid to hold the water crystals and foods (I use canning jar lids so all the sizes can access the water and food) and a UTH under part to keep the ambient temperature warm.

4. You can feed any roach you have, provided your animal is large enough to eat them. I personally don't feed the females, in order to keep my breeders going. You can buy feeder males from some places, to keep the pressure off your breeding colonies.

5. The Roach Guy (ROACH PAGE) and The Roach Ranch (The Roach Ranch | Welcome) both have excellent pricing, and they both have the feeder males, though The Roach Guy is often out of stock for them. I would recommend the Roach Ranch.

I hope this helps. Both of these sites have caresheets for Dubia, so they should help you as well. Good Luck!
