Hey all...
I'm building a 12x12x18 Exo Terra to house my 1.2 L. Williamsi.
Here is my plans/what I've done so far...
I silicon'd/cocofiber'd the styrofoam backdrop that comes with the Exo Terra, as well as cut some ledges at the top for basking near the light.
I've also begun to cut my tiki torches (read: bamboo) into appropriate lengths to have two criss crossing the corners of the tank and one to be horizontal to ground. Here is the first question: How do you guys recommend I secure this to the tank? Will simply siliconing the bamboo to the glass hold it for long term or should there be some sort of scuffig to the glass? Or should i tie it up to the other bamboo in there?
As far as plants go..
I had a miniature pineapple plant in there but realized I dont want to get stabbed every time i need to go in there for anything, as the leaves are aloe-vera ish and much spikier.
So, instead I got a tiger bromilead to mount in on the backdrop and some wandering jew.
How do you guys suggest planting the brom? My dart tank had 1 brom die and 1 brom survive, so my previous method is apparently so so. What do YOU guys do for broms?
Also, with a brom on the back drop and jew on the back and floor, that leaves some open space for a strong, vertically growing plant. What do you guys recommend? I could get a mini fig tree.. that would be interesting... or i could just let the brom take over. Opinions?
I'll take pictures tonight so this thread isnt so boring.
Thanks
