Well .... I have a good sized enclosure that I kept my breeding trio in. I removed the male back in January and thought that the females had finally stopped laying eggs. In fact I hadn't found an egg for several months so I put one of the females in with another new male. ( Found two eggs from that pair today
) Since then I've added 3 more females that are approaching adulthood in that enclosure so I now have a female only enclosure.
However ... last night while spraying I found a baby crestie on substrate in this enclosure with the mother WATCHING it. I quickly scooped it out and put it in it's own small enclosure. Now I've heard that baby cresties may not last long in with adults and there were FOUR in with this one. So I'm not sure if I was lucky or perhaps cresties don't eat the babies very often. But I'll be sure to keep my eye out for a second one in the coming nights. I may even scour the substrate to find the other egg.
