I have been given 2 leos with in the last 3 weeks. The female came here on the 1st and the previous owner said she had shed just under a week before that. The female then shed on the 8th (approx 2weeks from the last shed), then she just shed last night which is exactly 2 wks from the last shed. Is this typical of a leo that is approx 1.5-2yrs old or is it just because I have been trying to fatten her up as she was thin.

It simply depends on how much and how quickly they're growing (or not growing).
Our leos typically shed about once a month. The laying females it is about every 2 weeks a couple days before they lay. We have one male that sheds almost exactly every 2 weeks. We have a couple others on the smaller side that shed about every 5-6 weeks. If the leo is gaining weight quickly it would not be surprising that it sheds more frequently than once a month.
