Lately my gecko has enjoyed wandering around his cage and was eating regularly. Hes about 4-5 months old. However, the last few days, he seems a big sluggish. He doesnt really go into his hides (two days ago i switched his upside down cottage cheese container with an acutal hide) like he used to. He used to love his hides, but now i find him just laying in the middle of the cage. He moves around a bit but not much. I tried feeding him a few mealies and 2 waxworms, but he hasn't touched them. He hasn't pooped in too days. However i did see him drinking water. Hes in a 1o gal, with a UTH and the temp is around 95. Any suggestions? please help!

Sorry to hear what has happened, and hopefully your gecko will be alright. =\

What does his regular diet consist of? Do you use supplements?
If you can post any pictures of your gecko, please do. Sometimes pictures speak louder than words. ;)

Correction I've had him 3-4 months I got him at a local pet store and he's been fine. He was on crickets and wax worms. He stopped eating crickets do I move him to mealworms the last 2 months with a mix of crickets n wax worms. He's been fine on that so he hasn't had a drastic recent diet change. I will l
post pics soon. Although his appearance hasn't changed and I haven't noticed any abbormalitites

Your picture failed, You can use the attachments ( paperclip ) Icon.
If your gecko is getting weak , I suggest that you bring him to a vet ASAP.
In my opinion , That means hes not feeling at all. He can get weeker and weeker over time and that... Is bad.
Im no expert on gecko diseases, Does someone else has the same opinion than me ?

If you have not been supplementing Calcium, I suggest you do so, leave a tiny bit in a dish for him, then start coating your crickets until his bones get a bit stronger. Waxworms arnt always a good choice for a main diet as they are high in fat. Take him off those and feed him dusted crickets. A vet may be able to fix his leg so it doesnt grow in abnormally if it is a joint problem.

Try those out :)

I do leave a bowl of calcium but I feel he never
uses it. Is the bowl maybe too large? It's an upside down snapple cap. Should I go smaller?

I agree with Nayte :). Try supplementing with Calcium + Vit D3 when dusting crickets and you might even want to consider using a UVB light for a little while to increase the calcium uptake via vitamin d3 synthesis.

You don't have to worry about changing the snapple cap of calcium.

If anything its best to seek a vet's advise, if things do not improve.
