The problem with vermiculite and perlite with hatchlings is the hatchlings ingesting it while hunting. If you are just using it in your humid hides then you probably won't have a problem. I use moss for all my hides. It doesn't really seem to matter as much of a percentage as it does there just needs to be some humidity for shedding purposes. Just keep it moist and you should be fine.
If you question mean if you can put a Uth on a plastic container, Yes you can. But only Zoo-med Mini repti therm ( 1 to 5 g i think ) Is rated plastic safe. Yo ucan still put another type or bigger Uth but the results are not garanteed.
All the Zoo Med UTHs are pretty plastic safe as long as a thermostat is used and depending on the plastic container being used. For leopard geckos your temps shouldn't be getting much above 90 anyways.
What i mean is that only the Zoo med Mini says on the box , safe for plastic. But as long as u use a thermostat and the plastic container is thick enough, There shouldn't have any problem.
Very true. I use sterilite containers with heat cord and don't have any problem because I use a thermostat. Regulation is the key to using heat with anything.
If you are using perlite for your incubation medium it is .8 parts water to 1 part perlite per Albey's method. We have used this ratio and it worked just fine.
