Leopard Gecko weight

Is there a weight chart so you can see the average weights of Leos at different ages? We aren't sure how old Trex is, they just sold him as a "baby Gecko" at the pet store. He is for sure over a month old because we have had him a month. The scales we have only weigh grams in 5 gram increments, so I weighed him in ounces and he only weighed .1 oz. He really hasn't ate since we got him and that is why I decided to weigh him. Here is a pic of him in my step Mom's hand.

He is very thin. His tail should be fuller and and not have that shriveled appearance. What does his feces look like,is it solid or watery?I got a gecko from a store once and she had parasites, after we took care of her she started eating fine.Is he throwing up at all because he may have crypto which is a very contagious parasite and often kills. There is no cure for it and they often get that skinny pencil tail look. I would take him to the vet and get some blood work and fecal work done.Assuming you are feeding the right size feeders he looks like he is very sick and that may be why he is so thin. There is a thread that covers crypto in this section if you want to look it up. I hope he gets better and good luck.

I would say your gecko needs to gain some weight. He is looking rather thin. The tail should start to widen by one month of age. Typically our geckos will double their hatch weight in their first month. If they are 4 grams at hatching, they are usually around 8-10 grams at 1 month. They will typically gain at least 1 gram or more per week after that until they reach their adult weight. Of course there are exceptions, but that is the norm for us.

Tonight my step Mom went and bought everything and made him some Gecko Slurry. She fed it to him from a syringe (no needle) and just put dabs on his mouth, he seemed to like that. I left a little on a lid in case he will eat more of it on his own. She is going to go to the Pet store tomorrow and see what other worms they carry to try and get him to eat more.

She thinks the droppings look good. (She looks at a lot of droppings with 32 birds here), they do vary in size though. We haven't seen anything that looks like vomit in his cage.

If the droppings look good he most likely is not sick. That's good to hear he likes the slurry,I had to hand feed Rico, the gecko on my avatar, for several months because he wouldn't eat.I hand fed him Carnivore Care and he loved it.Good luck and keep us updated.

How long have you had him?

If you don't see significant growth with in 2 months, then you should be worried.

We have had him just about a month. He ate a little more slurry tonight, but not as much as last night. I did weigh him on a gram scale tonight and he weighs 6 grams.

Any idea on how much slurry I should be hand feeding him?

Thats not good if he hasn't eaten and hasn't grown more than 6 grams for more than a month. If you can go to a vet, go. I don't know of anything else you could do but give him time, make sure he has a good cage setup and temperatures. It's good that he is eating the slurry though.
