So I hope I'm not getting annoying at this point but heres another post about the satanic I bought last week.

I've been leaveing my new girl alone since I got her last Saturday cause I didn't want to stress her out but I was just cutting some loose shed of her (very very carefully) and I noticed that her belly is huge! I have been giving her a decent supply of crickets but the bulge seems a little abnormal for a full belly. Maybe it's just wishful thinking but she is wild caught and if she is gravid I need to prepare for the eggs if they do turn up and don't end up being slugs?

Opinions would be very appreciated.

Thanks so much

I think it is very hard to say if your female is pregnant. I find it especially with phantasticus and ebenaui very hard to say and most of the time it is easier to see that she has laid eggs instead of telling if she is pregnant. With henkeli you can see it easy through the skin of her belly (guentheri too) but phantasticus..mmm. The ebenaui group have a very high posture which makes it more difficult to see pregnancy, but maybe others think differently.. Determining from pictures makes it even harder

I'm with Jody on this one - I'm not sure.
I find myself looking at my aff.ebenaui and saying "yep, she's definately gravid" but the next day I change my mind, and sometimes I think that moments before i find a fresh clutch of eggs. They're very deceptive creatures ;)

i wouldn't say there is anything in those pictures that hints at her being gravid, you're best just keeping an eye on her and her enclosure to see if you find any eggs.

Hang on.
Your female is a wild catch? Correct me if I'm wrong, but all Uroplatus species were stopped for trading in 2007, I was told. That would make your female an illegal catch.

I'm with Mike. The pics don't indicate she is gravid. Phants are difficult to tell whether or not a female is gravid. In addition to looking for eggs on the substrate, watch for the female hanging around on the ground. They will usually crawl under a leaf pile when they are ready to lay.
