gecko lighting?

I have a saltwater light that has like a blue and white bulb, would that be ok to use for a crested? would it be ok for live plants?its kinda bright wasnt sure if itd help plants grow?

The light would benefit the plants but it will probably bother the gecko if you decide to keep it on for long periods of time. Perhaps if you used a timer to make it simulate daylight hours it shouldn't be a bother. If it is glaringly bright I would probably refrain from using it. If it is those fluorescent tubes instead of compacts.... 1 blue 1 white, you can take out one of them to make it less bright:idea:.

You should be fine with it, just watch your temps. I use T5 light fixtures on some of my tanks, they are an awsome light more for fish tanks but great for live plants and the animals. On fish tanks the blue just brings out more blues and greens while the normal light is what you would normally see with other reptile bulbs. I know on T5s you cant run one bulb at a time but if you can do the lights seperatly on yours you can also use the blue as a night time viewing light (depending on wattage and the size of your tank).
