i got a zoo med mesh enclosure yesterday bought overseas, just wondering if there are any geckos that would suit it , im a little concerned as it has a rather large door and not sure if they would try to escape .

With that size, just about anything will live comfortable in it. Crested geckos would be one example.

These mesh cages for reptiles, in my experience, have been great. They're insect proof and if you close the little latches on the doors, they're reptile proof too. I don't think something escaping is a real concern if you're careful.

No crested geckos in Australia? Really? They're native to an area not far from Australia, so I would think they'd be popular there. Try giving it a search and see if you can find something.

You can try looking around, see what gecko species are for sale nearby and then do a thorough search on the species. You can find what sized cage it needs, its care, etc. and you can choose from there. Because your cage is tall, I recommend something tree-dwelling. Hope you find something :)

thanks im worried though come winter i wont be able to heat it efficiently so perhaps im just better off using it as a temporary enclosure.
