Phelsuma grandis - 8 month old male adult?

It might be sexually mature at 8 months..but might not be yet. The biggest worry would be the size difference between him and a female ready to breed. Personally I wouldn't try to breed a female until she's about 18 months. When he reaches a similar size to her its probably worth a go

I have two females of this species that I'm guessing are around 10-11 months old. ( I wasn't given a hatch date. ) They are both approximately 7-8 inches from snout to tail tip, they eat like pigs and are developing huge calcium sacs.

I'm hoping to breed at least one of the females this season but was wondering if age can be determined from size at all? I don't have weights as they are quite skittish.

Any thoughts would be appreciated. :)

Thanks ... Dyesub Dave.
