i have a 46gallon bow tank that hoiuses 3 of my cresties wich i tried my best to turn into a cool looking vivarium..since im 16 my wallets not too full to be spending too much on my hobbbies yet..lol
but the thing is..for the ground i decided to buy irish moss...i filled the whole tank floor with it..it looked great the first few weeks..then it starte to grow real quick but now alot of it is starting to die its getting brown and nasty..im guesing cause they dont get as much lighting as they need or something of that sort..im debating about wether to buy a light fixture to go on top with full spectrum bulbs so they migh revive if u will..or to jut take it all out n buy that spanish moss thats like dry but still green...like the onse below

Contrary to appearances mosses need a lot of light and even more water. I suggest you to buy a fluorescent bulb e.g. T5 HO with 5000-6500K light spectrum. I don't know if it's worth to buy seperate lamp just to grow moss-but it's your choice after all.

P.S. Sphangum moss in appropriate conditions (like one I described above) will grow too.
