Not sure what this little gem is. marked as: U.cf malama/U. cf phantasticus at the importer (?!). Any ideas from experienced keepers? The animal is larger than any phantasticus or ebenaui I have :?

I am. Some are heavy on the protrusions while others are smooth as a baby's bottom.

Montagne d'Ambre "ebenaui" ?

Gasper what do you think ?

mine (cf ebenaui, about 2 years old) have almost the same body size than big adult of true ebenaui

it seems that collectors go deeper and deeper to find uroplatus...

I do not believe them to be Cf. ebanaui as the tails on the females are too short in comparison to what i remember Gasper's cf. ebanaui looking like when I met him.

I have ordered 10 more so we will see what arrives.

one of my male aff ebenaui looks just like that,he is maybe a little bigger than a adult phant but the one you have there looks bigger still, could there be a bigger form aff eb,as with phantasticus?
it will be interesting to see what female look like, and what others think,
great find!

I was thinking that myself - the tails look slightly different and perhaps slightly smaller than that on U.aff.ebenaui from Montagne D'Ambre.

here is a female aff.ebenaui (Montagne D'Ambre) for comparison:

Well, I was lucky enough to score another 1.1 of these guys...:) I'll post some pics soon. I'm trying to let them settle in. Behavioral observation suggests to me that this "species" or "type" is certainly different than typical U. ebenaui, for sure. Thanks for all the preliminary help, guys!
