Help--hornet from moss?

I purchased some live moss from the reptile show this past weekend, from a dart frog breeder. It looks great in my viv, but today an uninvited guest just emerged. I'm guessing it's from the moss, and not the bamboo, because the bamboo has been in there for 2 months now.
It's a small hornet--but not quite small enough. It's about 1 1/2 cm in length, glossy blue/black, and extremely active and tough.

Unfortunately, it's in with my Lepidodactylus lugubris. They're fully grown, but I'm concerned for them. This hornet is really too large for them to easily eat, and I'm afraid they'll be injured.

On the other other hand, I am really loathe to open that viv door, and let a hornet loose in my bedroom. >.< I have a bit of a phobia.

Has anyone ever heard of a thing like this, or have any suggestions?

And now it's gone into hiding! I sprayed the tank, and still no sign of it. I'll take a photo as soon as it reappears. Maybe I can cover it with a deli cup? It's fast, though. >.<

Edit: With water! Sprayed with water. Just so no one panics. lol

Get a net, someone that isn't afraid, and open the doors. When it comes out, catch it in the net, hold the net on the ground, and stomp on it till the bastard is dead.

It's disappeared...either they somehow ate it, or it's gone into hiding, lol. I'm not brave enough to actually poke around for it.

Looking up photos, I'm not sure if it's a wasp now, or a small species of carpenter bee.

If it reappears, I'll get some photos. Certainly the strangest thing to happen in a viv. :p

It hasn't reappeared. The only conclusion I can draw is that one of the scrappy little girls must have eaten it. A bee or hornet the size of their head--I'm impressed. Whichever one did it must have managed to do so without being stung--they all seem fine.

Haha. :p
Fortunately, that is impossible without a male bee or hornet.
(Not that hornet eggs are particularly threatening...larvae don't have stingers, it's the flying stingers that bother me...).
