my gecko shedded on thursday and on friday, when i came back from school, i noticed that she was bleeding a bit on her tail. this doesnt make sense as i ave a humid haide also. i put some polysporin on it, changed the paper towels and i put some on this morning too. then about 10 minutes ago i put a bandage on her tail, not a band aid. was this a good call? is polysprin poisonous to geckos? what should i do if this doesnt clear up?

I would have checked first if it was poisonous or not.
Can you get a picture of the cut?
Sometimes they bite themselves a bit too hard, mine did and proper took a chunk out of her side.

im guessing its not poisonous because shes still fine and the tiny wound seems to have gotten better and she eats like a beast still.:yahoo: im gonna go feed her now.:)

I wouldnt bandage it, let the air get to it, it will heal much faster that way. She will also have a roll in cleaning it herself as well. Just keep your eye on it and if it starts looking funky to the vets you must go. Good luck

I would not continue to use the polysporin. She is likely to lick at it and topical antibiotics are not made to be ingested orally. Also, the sticky nature of the topical antibiotic can cause contaminate to stick to the wound. She should be perfectly fine without it. I also would not bandage it in any way. Just keep her on paper towel and keep an eye on it.
