Cricket size for Tokay

I have been feeding my Tokay "Large" crickets for the past few months that I have had it. These crickets generally come from the pet store and are probably 3/4 of an inch long. In comparison, crickets that come from the bait store are generally and inch long. My question is, do any of you get a better feeding response from larger prey or should I just stick with the pet store size. The bait store is a farther drive than I usually am able to go.

and B. Dubia's are out of the question right now, nowhere to get them locally

Size really doesn't matter too much other than a larger cricket will hold more gut load and for a longer period of time. The fact that there's no local source for dubia is that much more of a reason to raise them. You can probably sell your extras to the pet store. You're going to go broke having to run to the pet store every day for crickets.

Hah I don't go every day, I usually purchase 50 at a time, my daughter loves going to the "animal store" to look around and we usually purchase other things as well. I'm a big supporter of local business and the guy that runs this place has the best staff you could ever ask for.

I plan to raise dubias one day, but that is next to impossible right now.

My tokays refuse dubias now for some reason, have to get crickets again, and i hate crickets, could the tokays just have a period of non-eating? the female just laid 2 unfertile eggs.
