Is this a bad nose-rub?

Just noticed this last night and I'm concerned for my girl. She normally hides during the day and doesn't really like being held, so I don't see her that often. Last night I took her out to clean the cage (ZooMed 12x12x18) and saw she has a patch right on her nose that is totally rubbed raw! Also looks like her nostrils might be inflamed... See pic for details.

Any idea what this could be caused by? More importantly, how do I treat this? I put a male in with her about 2 weeks ago and they seem to be doing fine, but I took him out last night when I saw her.

I have her on hydro-balls -> eco-earth -> sphagnum moss. I feed her CGD every other day, live crickets about once a week. She's about 18 months old and weighs around 34 grams.

Thanks for your help!

Eddie

Looks like it could be a bite or injury from a fall. Keep them seperated and put her in an enclosure with papertowels until it heal up some to prevent any infection.

Thanks for your reply.

I hope that it is an injury, and not some bacteria or infection. Much easier to deal with an injury than trying to kill some nasty bug... I'll keep her separated from the male and put her in a smaller enclosure with paper towels tonight.

Thanks again!

Just wanted to update: she's already healing up nicely and looking much better only a few days after this post. Thanks!

Must have just been a scraping from a fall or something where she landed on her nose. Glad she is doing better!
