How can I give plants nutrients?

All I'm doing really is giving it water and a 6500K bulb to stimulate sunlight and lots of plants are dying. Am I doing something wrong? Should I add something else?

Thanks!

What substrate do you have for your plants? If it's cocofiber, ditch it. Replace it with natural garden soil. It could help if we knew what kind of plants you had. There are many that don't need any soil for example. Some varieties of orchids and epiphytes would be included.

not necessarily true actually coco-fiber is a fine growing media it's just completely inert, thats actually why people use it in hydroponics. personally i use my own mix of coco-fiber, ground peat, sand, roach fraz, leaf litter and charcoal. if you want to try fertilizing use something like worm casting tea, old fish water or a fish based organic fertilizer that is really watered down. other than that cant really help you though a picture of the plants might help.

Could that be harmful in any way to the gecko; fertilizing with old aquarium water, worm casting tea etc.??

with old aquarium water as long as you weren't medicating or something is fine, it's just fish poop and water. same with worm casting they are completely organic and if you don't know are basically worm poop. the one that could be slightly bad if you don't deal with it correctly is the fish based organic fertilizer but you shouldn't have a problem if you water it down quite a bit.

there are other ones out there and by far the best is to start out with good substrate but you work with what you have.

Which plants are you using? Not every plant works well in an enclosure. Some need more/less humidity, more/less airflow, some are too delicate to withstand getting jumped on by geckos. If you could tell us what you're using, we might be able to give more info. Fertilizer isn't usually a problem for a few months, but too much/too little light can cause problems in a matter of a few weeks.
If you aren't sure of the plant names, can you post pictures? Seeing just what they look like can also help pinpoint the problem.
