Hi all!
it has been a while! but i come back with a question: i have this one lepard gecko who is 7 monthes old but he is the size of a 4 month old. will he grow more? i have saw a lepard gecko a a local pet store and i asked how old he was and if he was normal size the guy said he was 6 monthes old and he was normal size! so if anyone could answer that question that would be great! also
my leo LOVES to climb i mean...he should not feel the need to climb he is after all a leo. he quite often gets to the top of the cage and then i put him back down. could it be somthing outside the cage?? well i suere would like to know!

Every leopard gecko grows at a different rate based on husbandry. Fed less often, low temps, stress, etc. All can result in a gecko growing slower or to a smaller adult size. On average they reach adulthood (50ish grams) by 12-18 months of age.

Provide him with food, as much as he'll eat in one sitting, every day until a year old. Some geckos won't eat every day because they're aging. If he'll eat every day, let him, unless of course he begins to get obese.

Double check your temps. That the gecko is housed alone. Adequate hides. Etc.

Many of my geckos love to climb. Nothing wrong with it. I give them lots of branches to climb across. Just make sure if he falls he won't hurt himself. I put plastic plants under the branches.

everything sounds normal. like allee said, size and growth rate varies as much as it does with us humans. if she's only 7 months old, i wouldn't worry too much about it.

some leopard geckos love to climb. this is a personality thing that once again varies as much in geckos as it does in humans. i left the top of my cage one time when i was cleaning it and my male ended up in my female's tank! just make sure there aren't any hard surfaces under him and keep climbing areas at a safe height and let him do what his little heart desires.

@allee i have a question when you said "provide him with food, as much as he'll eat in one sitting" Well i did that he ate about 8 and the next day he spit it back out (he barfed it up) So... I have not done that scence he did that so i was wondering what made him do this? does he have no self control when it comes to food?

thanks~Kendall

He was either over excited and ate too much, or he has no self control. Since you fed 8, next time give 7 and see if he does it again. Either way when they regurgitate it it's because they ate too much too quickly. Oliver, my snow ghost het bell, did this once. It was kind of random. He usually eats around 15 mealies in one sitting. I fed him 10 as he ate them (pretty quickly, too. Normal feeding takes 5 minutes, this one was under a minute), and the next day they were regurgitated. With him I count to four after he finishes swallowing a worm before offering another.
