Do you have a pic of the bruise? If you could post one that would be really helpful. I don't use any pebbles in the enclosures of any of mine for that reason. Although not sure why yours would up and decide to eat a rock. Maybe a vitamin deff? Or maybe there was food on it? I'm not to sure on that one. The only thing I do know is rocks and pebbles can lead to impactions and or tears in the intestines. A vet visit might be in order how long ago did she eat it? I wouldn't try the olive oil without a little more imput tho as I'm not a vet nor have I ever tried this. A soak in Luke warm water might help pass a defecation and that might help pass it or if she has stopped defecating completly I would call the vet as well.
I just read the edit on your post I personally would call a vet asap she may have decided to eat more than one rock and this could be causing some serious issues. Either way please keep us updated.
Thanks for the response.
The 'bruise' was just like they are when they turn dark, just in a circular shape and about pea-sized on her lower back. The right half of her tail also turned the same color. She didn't have any olive oil, but I got that from reading leopard gecko and beardie forums.
The managed to pass the pebble yesterday and looked fine for the rest of the day. She had a cricket and drank some water, so I was pretty sure she was OK. As far as vitamins, I don't think that's it because I do use Herptivite and Calcium with D3 with insects.
This morning, I found her jammed in a bamboo pole. Her tail wasn't moving in response to touch and she was completely dark all over. I thought she was dead and it was caused by the pebble somehow. I started cutting her out of the bamboo little by little, and she looked like she got stuck and suffocated but I wasn't sure, until I peeled back another part of the bamboo and then she literally sprang back from the dead and darted across my floor and then stopped. There she was, dark green with her little smile. I was so amazed and just watched her crawl around my walls for half an hour until I got her back in the cage. For the past few hours, she's just been hanging out in the corner of her cage and looking over at me.
So, a cautionary tale for everyone I guess... Keep those enclosures safe in case they decide to do something stupid twice in two days.
