My 2 knobtails

I bought 2 juvi knobtails last year; Sparta, my amyae male, is now huge at 46-48g. He was in winter mode last month. I think he was semi-brumating; always hiding and ate very little, but kept his weight then. He came out of it last week, I see him coming out more often and eating normal now. BUT! He lost 2g after he resumed eating! Is this normal?? Keeping weight when not eating, and then lose weight when eating is resumed?! On top of that, what's more weird is that he let me hold him to take pictures this morning! Normally, he would squirm and wouldn't even let me look at him straight on. I hope there's nothing wrong with him. I mean, he's eating fine and his poop looks perfect; just the behaviour is a little not like him, hmm.

Can someone please confirm that he is a male? Steve (geckosetc) told me adult male amyaes average around 30-35g, but Sparta is really huge...he was 49g last month, which got me wonder if he is really a he.

My levis, Jil, is still in winter mode. He is always sleeping in his burrow, and eat like 1 small cricket every 7-10 days. He is gaining weight though, weird isn't it. I weighed him this morning and he is 21.4g. I suppose he will also lose weight when he comes out of his semi-brumation.

See, Jil is acting normal; I can't keep him on my hand at all.

They both look great! Sparta is pretty large, wow! Probably lost weight due to the increased activity and the body's metabolism readjusting.

Thanks, he's acting more "normal" now. When I looked at him last night, he quickly walked away, lol.
