Leo Bite

So the other day I was walking upstairs with my leo sitting on my hand and he bites me! I was shocked that such a little creature could do so much damage. I have seen other bites and none looked as bad as this (unless of course they had already healed a lot). There was A LOT of blood, then I washed off and put on some bandages and was fine. The question is, what did I do to scare him like that? I think my hand may have been shaking, sometimes my hands will shake, not like the animal is hanging on for dear life, but they will vibrate, I guess is the best way to say it. Just something I do subconsciously. Could this be what startled him enough to bite me. Love to hear your feedback.

Lol that probably is what happened then. Alright, thank you for all the responses guys. Sorry norea, I have been bitten by a beardie, crested, and a fat tail, but until this there was no blood. To be honest when it happened I was as shocked as you are, but I'm quite certain I was bleeding. Sorry, I don't have pics from it. I was so scared and surprised when it happened it did not occur to me to be taking pictures of my leopard gecko bite just to prove it happened. I can try and send you a pick of what it looks like now, about a month later but it's mostly healed up. Also, this is a stupid question, but I have tried to figure out how to post pics and the technological genius I am I have failed. Any instruction would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again guys!

We've had our leo for about 2 1/2 months and she's nipped at me a few times. I think it's more of a "you're annoying me" type of nipping by never has actually bitten me. There were a couple of times though when I was feeding her that she actually leaped up at me, although I think she was going after the meal worms rather than my fingers.

haha my male gecko is a beast and if u have finger outside the glass and ur not trying to pick him up he will almost stalk my finger like its prey LOL i think its funny but sometimes scary cause i dont want him to smack his head into the glass trying to bite my finger LOL my other leos have never tried to bite, sometimes they will make noise when i was checking them for being gravid, but other than that they are good my oldest will climb to a good spot and just sit on u, my younger females will keep walking for days! and my male is just crazy and will jump off the roof if u let him!

To bwoodfield and azkfxgecko both, LOL. My little guy has always been kind of skittish. He runs away from crickets and he'll stalk the mealworms, but it takes him three or four lunges before he can get one in his mouth. He's kind of a dope, more the reason why the bite startled me, but I guess I'll be sure not to shake my hand like that again with him.
