So i haven't posted in a while and figured i should do so now since i'm back into the gecko's !

i recently Got a 1.1 Phelsuma madagascariensis Grandis off of someone who wasn't taking very good care of them, stuck sheds, skinny everything... So right away i took them in and got them back into 100% great health!

So here are some pictures for everyone! :)

here is a picture of when i first got the, female was very dark in colour

And here is some pictures of her and a little surprise she left me one day! I guess it was a " Thank You" for taking them in and getting them in better living conditions! :yahoo:

Nice pickups.

How are you incubating that egg? For all the Phelsuma I've hatched out, I have always placed the eggs in a bottle cap on top of some moist vermiculite (1:1 ratio of vermiculite:water by mass). I then poke a few holes in the lid so that the humidy isn't too high. From what I see, it looks like the egg is being incubated on dry coco-fiber. You may get a hatchling from that incubation media, though I believe the humidity is too low to warrant a hatchling.

Grandis are very prolific, so prepare for babies if they're being housed together .

Good luck with them.

Adam,

That was just what i had placed the egg in to get it out of the tank... It's now in 1:1 ratio of vermiculite inside an incubator. So everything is perfect now for incubation! :)

So we shall see if it hatches out or not !

Eggs

Mine (madagascariensis madagascariensis, not grandis, but closely related) lay every 30-60 days. So I don't think you have a problem! Mine always lay their eggs in the bamboo tubes.

Hmmm Interesting! Thanks for letting me know that... Everything i've read says something different in terms of when they lay the eggs.

I'm going to add some more bamboo and some other stuff to the tank yet, see if that helps.
