Rexi just gave me her first clutch of eggs and they ARE good!:yahoo: I'm so excited and happy, hope to see babies in a couple of months. Bad thing is i'm away from home for another week and have been for 2 so I wasn't there when it happened. :(

Update

The little guys are still incubating and doing great! Getting antsy wanting to see what my pair produced. Babies are the best! Hope to get some really nice reds and/or Dalmation. :D Day 46!

Congrats on the fertile eggs....What temps are you incubating at?

I am in icubating at 78 to 80 degrees but it RARELY reaches 80... When I notice the temps are 80 I move them away from the heat source. I have baby tarantulas in incubation as well and have them both incubating in the same room, Crested eggs container is sitting on top of the tarantulas container. :D

what is the ratio of perlite and water that u are using?

I am using Hatchrite but have misted a couple of times to make sure it wasn't too dry for them. I like to open the container and let them air out for a few minutes once about every two days.

:D :D :D

Ooooo...I love Dals! So unique! Let me know if you get any Id like to see the pics too!

Definately! My girl is a Red Harley (I think) with Dalmation spots so the chances are there. Don't know exactly what my male is... I was told but I forgot.:coverlaugh:

57 DAYS!! :yahoo: I am just waiting on them to hatch... I can't wait! I did candle them a couple of times and noticed veins and are nice big and white so i'm pretty sure they are fertile. :D Last time I candled them I think they were too large to see because all I saw was darkness.

I think that you are getting close to hatch date here soon, at the temps you have them at then I would estimate between day 63-73. Looking forward to seeing baby photos.

Congrats ~ by now you should have babies :-D

Hey there :D

I have been breeding cresties since 2005. I prefer to purchase the breeder males & hatch my females. So far, I have successfully hatched ALL females. I never use heat & my avg temp stays about 73-76 degrees, with the substrate ALWAYS kept moist/wet. I use coconut bark because Perlite was too difficult for me to tell whether it was moist enough or not. I separate my females from the males at the end of Nov. until the beginning of Feb. I guess I'm averaging about 50 babies or so a year, which I take to a local dealer (unless they're just so pretty I HAVE to keep them! lol). I have 2 breeder tanks (2 females, 1 male) in each & recently hatched 2-3 more females that I will add to the breeding pool as soon as they are big enough NOT to be eaten:coverlaugh:

Well... that's enough about me... :blushing:

How did your babies come out? Any pics of them yet? I would LOVE to see them!!! ...and again... CONGRATS!!! :cheer:

Oh gosh you have no idea how antsy I am! I check on them constantly only to find they still look big and white, lol! Is it normal for one egg to be slightly larger than the other?

Wow, all females? That's pretty awesome... I only have my one pair since I don't want to get overwhelmed with babies. The babies haven't hatched but soon I hope! :D

Day 61 and I just checked on the eggies... They feel a bit soft, any ideas on how much longer they will hatch in your experiences? :D

One egg is usually bigger than the other in my experience. Once the shell starts to soften, then it is only a matter of a few hrs-couple days max before the egg will be pipped and the little ones will melt your heart.

Hi! The babies actually hatched out 2 days later and that was about a month ago. They are BEAUTIFUL! :D I got a chocolate flame with a bit of pinstriping and damnation spots and a red harlequin. :) I have another thread floating around with pictures. I don't know how to post the link on my iPod. :/
