Question regarding amyae

Hello everyone,

Was just wondering if it is possible to house more than one amyae together? Obviously males would fight, but can females be kept together?

Also do you keep males and females in pairs together all the time, or simply introduce the male to the female during the breeding season.

Thanks

Tom

I put them together only for breeding purposes. It's possible to keep them allways in pairs or a male with several femals, but you probably will get the best breeding results when you keep them single.

I keep mine singular so i can keep am eye on individual progress. I just introduce the male. After witnessing mating i didn't put them together again. They both produced 3 clutches in their first season from the one mating. Not all eggs were fertile but both laid 2 fertile eggs in their last clutch of the season.

I allways put the male back in with the female after she has layed and had 100% fertile eggs. First year 2 clutches ( first one dead in shell ) other one 1.1. Last year 3 clutches (3.3) and this year one clutch incubating and more on the way.
