chahoua foot wound

So my female chewie was injured during a breeding attempt, the male had grabbed her by her foot. The 4th toe was broken and is currently at a 45 degree angle and kinda flops over the other toe. Now the third toe was cut, however this morning she either shed and ripped the toe open or bit her own toe and is trying to rip it off, either way she was doing something to it to make worse (by the way the initial injury happened either thursday or friday night) now the toe is exposed and kinda looks like it it is hanging by a thread, while the other toe is broken.

Now I realize its a foot and probably not much ccan be done but should I just keep it clean and watch it and let it do what its going to do, or should I bring her to a vet?, which the closest exotic vet is cornell.

I would take her to the vet he will amputate the toe and clean it up so there is little chance for infection

If this is still a problem, then I think all you really can do (besides taking her to the vet) is let nature happen..
If the toe is only hanging on by "a thread" then she will probably bite it off completely. Once that happens, if the wound is large or very raw and exposed, you can but some kind of antibiotic ointment (such as neosporin) on it and try to put a small bandage around her foot. She probably wont like it very much, but it will help her heal quickly without getting dirt, substrate, etc. in the wound.

However, if she doesnt bite it off, and it cant heal, then it needs to be removed. While you "might" be able to do this yourself if the toe is almost disconnected and you dont thing any veins are at risk.. it can be pretty stressful and nerve racking - so the vet would be the safest option.

Yeah Im definetly not removing her toe lol, the toe is no longer "exposed" but it does look like she is going to lose it, Im probably going to bring her to a vet as soon as I get some time off from work.

In the mean time, I would take her off any substrate and use paper towels to make sure no infection sets in. If you do use neosporin, make sure it's the kind that DOES NOT contain the pain reliever because the pain reliever is dosed for humans and not small critters like the geckos.
