Interesting new "Calico" Tokay

Picked up this guy yesterday. He's settling in at the moment so dont have any of my own pictures to show but this was taken by the previous owner...

The interesting thing with him is his patterning. The photo doesnt show it but his "patches" arent the usual I have seen on a calico. He actually has patterning like a normal tokay in them almost like he is pied.

I will know over time because if he is calico, his pattern will reduce/change. I wish I had seen this guy come out the egg.

I wasn't looking for any more Calico's as I'm already working with a cracking one but I found this guy too interesting to pass up on and im really looking forward to seeing if I can prove the gene out and what the hatchlings will look like straight out the egg.

Thanks for looking =] Ill get some more pic's up once he has settled.

Very nice looking! He may well be a different genetic mutation from other calicos. It wouldn't surprise me if there was a "pied" and a "calico" morph that were completely different genetically. Tokays are seemingly an endless supply of various natural "morphs". Only time and breeding will tell how they all play out. Do you have a particular female that you plan on putting him with?

The only plans I have at the moment is to prove the gene out and see if they come out like that, or whether its a progression with time.

Unfortunately most of my morphs are male so proving them out is the first thing, and then work on doing the double with whatever I have!

either way I'm really happy with it. stunning with a full tail, and its a big lad too!
