Update: Risk of impaction and other ?'s
I have one Leopard gecko so I feel I have an average amount of "know-how" with desert geckos. I would really like to get an Australian knobtail gecko and I feel that I would be able to provide it with everything it needs. I just had a question for the experienced knobtail keepers. Does using sand as a substrate pose any risk of impaction to these guys? I read somewhere that the only way these guys can really thrive is if they are on as natural a substrate as possible?
I'm not planning on getting one of these guys for quite some time, but I would like to collect as much info as I can so that I can make the best home for him that I can. Thanks!
