Finally a hatchling

This morning I went to check the eggs in the incubator and I saw a hatching. I thought at first it was another Leo, (I've had nine hatch so far this summer), but when I opened the container, I realized it was a little fat tail.:yahoo: I'm uber happy because Galadriel's first three clutches all almost hatched then died right before hatching. The other egg from the clutch could hatch any day now. I'm going to name the baby Hedwig if it's a girl and Harry if it's a boy. If you know why, you're as big of a nerd as I am, lol.

YAY! I hope the other is just as healthy as his clutch mate! You need to post some pictures of the little bundles of gecko joy!

the clutchmate hatched this morning, looks a little thin, I noticed a lot of the placenta stuff (whatever it's called left in the egg) so he/she seems to have hatched before absorbing all that stuff (the one that hatched yesterday is pretty filled out). It does seem pretty lively, but I'm probably going to try to feed it some reptiaide over the next couple weeks.

I took a few pics on my cellphone, I just have to get them on my computer so I can upload them, lol.

I have a new female who should be ready to breed in November, so hopefully I'll get some more babies. And I won't be messing with trying to mix Vermiculite and Perlite (sp?) just going with the Hatchrite. It made my hatch rate go from 40 % to 95 % for the Leos and I managed to actually hatch the fat tails.
