Differences between Cordylus species

Hopefully I will be starting a Cordylus breeding project very soon. Most of the information I have found about these lizards is on Geckos Unlimited;-).
The one thing that I can't find about these lizards is the slight differences between C. Tropidosternum and C. T. Jonesii. I wouldn't want to accidentally mix up the sub species.

I have found this article about breeding the lizards -

Breeding the Tropical Girdled Lizard (Forest Armadillo Lizard) - Part 1 | That Reptile Blog

Towards the bottom of the article there is a link that shows the difference between the species but it really doesn't help at all -

subspecie

As you can see, it shows the two of them but doesn't give me anything on telling the difference. Can anyone give me some information on the differences. Something that is distinct about them that I could pick out.

Thank you

You can probably find what you need in Loveridge 1944. You're right; these two subspecies (each different species at that time) broadly overlap in morphology, but page 15 shows some differences in scalation between the two. Many of these characters also overlap, but will likely be informative when used together. You can read the complete descriptions elsewhere in the paper.

I suspect that just one of the two forms is commonly kept in captivity. If not, and if you don't have wild caught animals, it may not be possible to know if you have hybrids.

@BryanF - thank you very much. The book was very informative. I have actually found the information I needed from another article.

Thank you for your help
