So Rocky finally put on some weight. He is now back to male breeding size at 36 grams and is gaining an average of a gram/wk. Here are some recent pics of him (he is in no way "fired up").

Ya he does! I was even thinking about picking up a female for him at the next expo in October. Will a 6yr old crestie still breed or will it be too much for him?

Since the life expectancy for cresties are around 15 yrs in captivity, I see no reason why he couldn't breed for a few years.

Any suggestions about what kind of female to get to get the nicest hatchlings or are genes not as concrete in cresties.

what do u feed him?

The new CGD with egg protein in it and occasionally I will throw a couple of crickets in his enclosure for him to hunt. It took him a while to get him to get back on some live food he had almost a year of straight CGD before that.

What color does he fire up? I would consider finding a female that matches him in color if you like how he looks.

As far as selling babies, I might look for a girl with more cream or pinstriping. Depending on what he fires up, his color may or may not be in high demand but he looks like he has a fairly wide head, so maybe look for a female with a wide head as well? You could have really nicely structured babies.
