Gorgeous geckos! Kindof looks like it might be time for some thicker bamboo for your giants!

Have you gotten eggs out of your giants yet?

Thank you, and it's so funny you say that;

Just waiting to be cut. Had to go pick up a new hack saw tonight... doesn't stop the grandis from testing it out already ;-) And to answer your second question, yes. I got my first eggs from my biggest female just this past August 9th.

I don't know if your into tools or not, but I have a Ryobi 18v reciprocating saw that makes cutting bamboo extremely fast(not exactly accurate, but that is what the folded paper towels are for!). Not to mention I can swap the batteriers between the saw and the drill for projects!

HA let me know what they think of the new bamboo though. They are probably going to stay on the skinny pieces out of habit!

Me around power tools? I dunno about that :blushing: Hacksaw + file has always been my way of sizing bamboo. And of course plastic suction cups for the ones that need just-that-little-bit of adjusting. I'll be installing the new boo tomorrow, I've got a few cages to fill as I just upgraded a few of my smaller enclosures to larger ones.

Perhaps if I teach my boyfriend how to pick up a power tool my job will become a little easier ;-)

Fantastic geckos! That quadriocellata is amazing! I would love to get phelsuma but roaches are illegal here in canada and I don't want to deal with crickets.

Why thank you. The quad's name is "Poptart" :blushing: He's quite the character, and very photogenic. We're lucky enough that I'm able to do quite the variety of feeders. I do everything but crickets if I can. Maybe the occasional for my Lineata (her fave). I agree though, crickets are the worst. We had some 2 weeks we got for our baby chams, well it's been a few weeks and now I hear the odd escape artist now-adult chirping around our place. #cricketnerdrage

What do you feed your geckos? I just saw you were in canada and was wondering what you fed them other than crickets.

Flightless Fruit Flies
Bean Weevils
Superworms (grandis)
Silkworms
Silkmoths
Aphids
Waxworms

Mashed up fruit (Variety, changes daily)
Repashy Day Gecko MRP
Bee Pollen
Honey/Agave Nectar

+Repashy Supplements (Supervite, A, Calcium, SuperPig) Superfly for the fruitflies too.

I try to avoid crickets all together. I've tried other things (wild-caught insects, butterworms, horned worms) but they were more of a one-time, not very often type of thing.

Hope that helps

Mashed up fruit makes up a whole list as well, but to be honest... my sumas don't like half of what I make for them ;-) brats.

I too love you quad's photos. The pop of the occasional blue scale on his green head is neat. Thanks for sharing!

He is quite the cutie. Awesome personality to match as well!

I checked out your site in your signature. Wonderful shots you have of your colony. I'm so excited for my Neons!

Nice pics! is your Lineata a P.Lineata or a subspecies. How do you keep your lineata cage wise. I am getting a female to go with my male P.Lineata elanthana from hamm!

Nice collection you have there, and the setups aren't bad either! I have a pair of grandis that is blossoming into a full-out addiction. I'm also picking up a trio of hatchling klemmeri and can't wait!

You quad is awesome, by the way! They've been my fave day gecko for a while, yet I have never kept them. Hopefully some day.

Yeah, same here, they seem pretty hard to find cb and if you do they won't have the bright colors you see in the pictures.

very nice set up!!!! what size is it?

Thank you :D For my Lineata, 18 x 18 x 24

I agree. Captive bred specimens seem to be less colorful then their WC counterparts, which is unfortunate since it makes the demand for WC somewhat more substantial.

Hopefully with the advancements in lighting and/or supplementation in the hobby we will see more color-retention in the near future :) For me, this is the focus of my study when it comes to P. quadriocellata.
