Leopard Gecko Croaking At Night ???

Hey guys,

Recently, Ive been, on select nights, hearing intermittent croaking at night, but it is a consistent croak, like that of a frog. I have heard Leos "talk" in low croaks but never anything like this. It was consistent for a few minutes. Just croak, croak, croak and it sounded a lot like the croak you hear them make once in awhile when pissed, but repeated over and over again and not aggressive sounding.

Anyone have any idea why? :scratchhead:

Two of my 5 tanks are breeding tanks. Is this why? Is it common for them to make a sound before/during/after breeding??? I checked on everyone again this morning and there are no eggs, bite marks, scratches or anything.

Any ideas on the mysterious croaking would be great.

Thanksssss!

:scratchhead:

@Mardy,

A video of that would be awesome but every time I move, they stop ! So I just lay there in bed as still as possible barely breathing, listening to this croaking when it wakes me up once in awhile. Its so weird!!!! It also does not always wake myself and my boyfriend up, and one of us will tell the other the next day, so I assume they probably do it every night.....

I just cant for the life of me figure out why!

I haven't heard it myself but I just googled it and you aren't alone its mentioned on a few sites but nobody seems to agree on why. Some say its that they're in a vertical position and some say that its because they're unhappy. Doesn't sound like anyone really knows.
