gecko wet spots

Hello,

I have just got my first leopard gecko, its settling in nicely.
It is housed inside a 15 gallon long with heat at one side at 30C and cool side at 25C variable humidity depending on the day but its usually 40 -50%.

He is eating nicely and active but I am slightly worried beacuse when he is basking on the warm side he leaves little yellowish small wet pathces on the paper towel substrate.

Is this OK or am I feeding him too much

I feed him 4-5 medium crickets per day, dusted with calcium and multi vits every week is this OK its what I read.

It's most likely urine. How old is your gecko? If he's a mature male it could just be that he's rubbing his scent onto the paper towel. That would probably leave a yellowish color. They secret a yellowish waxy substance from the pores on their bellies. This could be it too. Does it have any odor? Is he otherwise eating and pooing regularly?

Yes, it is. They can also excrete liquid urine. It's not too common but they do usually pass the hard white urates with a bit of extra liquid.
