I have a restless female. She is my largest sikorae out of 9. I got her imported about 2 months ago. She has been doing great. Very active, eats well, very hydrated by looks of tail and urate.
Some time last week mid day she woke up out of normal sleep position vertical branch to go around violently biting at pothos leaves and drinking lots of water. She basically hasnt been back to sleep much or normal behavior since. I have found her in position not flattened to a comfortable rest state. She is very large like she has eggs for sure. I water her extra and she drinks a lot. She is not so active now and I can find her usually in the same spot throughout day n night. Give or take she will turn around a bunch of times but never really explore anymore. Also not to jumpy if I was to touch her which usually isnt the case.
I did add a male sikorae probably 2 weeks ago. They got along even slept close by both on sticks and ate equally. She actually ate first as she is bigger and more aggressive. They both actively explored and hunted and even slept routinely.
She is in well planted fully natural 18x18x24 inch exo. With little leaf litter not much. Ive thought to remove her into a 10 gallon to better care and monitor. Also thought of taking out the male. Really though I dont think that is the problem. She just looks so big. So im at the point of I dont know what I want to do. If she was gravid I think she should have laid by now. I hope shes ok its hard to watch her like this. Thanks for any advise, I do appreciate it. Jack
I really think she just needs to pass these eggs, but its hard to watch her not go to sleep normal is starting to get me little worried so I figured with a shot to share my experiences with her.
