Is Your Leo a Fussy Eater?

Well for a while my leo never really liked crickets, he would eat them but without much enthusiasm, so today at the pet shop I decided to try him out on Black crickets and he gobbles them up really quickly, he hunts them all down, but when feeding him brown crickets he doesn't really go for them, so if you have a leo and he's not eating try him on a different food :)

Also Do leos need meal worms? my leo doesn't really go for them either, are there any substitutes for mealies?

My gecko's love black crickets but hate brown ones too esp the little hairy brown ones. I don't feed any of my geckos meal worms but I do feed the pheonix worms and butterworms occasionally which are high in calcium and low in fat (meal worms are pretty fatty). Some of them like pheonix worms and some don't and most of them like butterworms. I feed mine locusts in addition to crickets and all my gecko's love them in some cases rather too much. Goomba goes crazy if he spots me feeding locusts to one of my other gecko's lol. Hope that helps a bit

My boy Yoshi is the pickiest eater I have ever seen. He only eats mealworms; refuses to eat anything else. Crickets just don't seem to be appetizing to him. Where as my other two leopard geckos will eat anything you put in front of them!! Just keep offering different feeders.
