I may get flack for this, but I don't think it's as bad as people are saying. I don't feed crickets often, but when I do, it's these guys because that's what the pet store has. I have never been bitten, my leopard geckos have never been bitten. The pet store uses them with all their herps (anoles, beardies, leopard geckos, tokays, emerald swifts, chinese water dragons, pacman frogs, baby snakes).
Once my baby lateralis (turkistan roaches) get big enough, I won't have to feed crickets at all. I mostly just buy crickets because the toads won't eat dubias. The lateralis roaches are more cricket-like, and the toads like them. Maybe those can be an option for people who don't want to feed the new crickets and can't find the old.
