Rearranging Tank

My crestie Rex is in a 18x18x24 inch exo terra. I think I have it set up pretty well. He's been in it since December. Is there any need to ever rearrange the branches, plants and vines? Do cresties ever need a change. I'm concerned about boredom. But don't want to make him feel scared either. Maybe just changing one thing now and then?

I like to shake it up in my gecko tanks. I'm not sure if they "need" it, but it doesn't seem to hurt. if your gecko was delicate/tiny/easily prone to stress I wouldn't make changes, but if he's healthy and secure rearranging every now and then shouldn't hurt him.

what's the substrate? I use moss and leaf litter over the soil, and occasionally it needs to freshened up replaced. during those times I might add a new plant or change a stick or something. periodically you need to clean off gecko poo and that's another good time to move sticks.

Just 1/4 to 1/2 inch coco fiber. He never seems stressed when handled or there's noise. I have a fake plant in the middle on the floor that he just never touches, he weighs the leaves down. Maybe I'll find something new. I have these two really great branches, I was thinking about turning them a different direction maybe.

can you post a pic? if you only have one plant and he never touches it, maybe he needs more/different plants?

There is a particular plant he doesnt touch. The rest of the tank is great!!! I was thinking of switching out that plant and not rearranging anything else, or maybe flipping around a branch too, is all I meant. :fight:
