have you candled and looked for the cheerio? it's pretty clear from the time they're laid, whether they're fertile?

congrats!

go to the bottom and check links for candling. you'll see exactly how to do it, and exactly what the eggs look like during various stages, if they're fertile.

you did maintain the orientation they were laid in, right? if you didn't you may have drowned the embryos.

yes i kept them the orientation they were in. and ive watched her video on candling and it says wait a week to candle so thats contradicting what you said.

It can take up to a week for the "Cheerio" to show up, but usually you can see it clearly right away. I always candle mine as soon as I pull them out from the tanks, and only on a few rare occasions was the "Cheerio" not instantly visible.
Your eggs do look very nice. Good color, shape, & size from what I can tell in the picture. I think you likely have a fertile clutch there.

Yeah I can usually see the day they're laid whether or not eggs are fertile, though often the "cheerieos" aren't as well "defined" in shape for a few days.

Make sure the cheerio is turned towards the top of the egg.

Congrats on your eggs!!! :)

congrats! the cheerio is a little more obvious at 1 week, of course, but then you also see veins.

I had 8 fertile eggs last year and every one was candle-able right after Xochitl laid.
