My crickets are hatching and I have thousands of them.I know they won't all last but even 1/2 would be great. So in a few weeks I should have some crickets that will be ready to feed to my juvenile Leo.
It's been a week and my crickets are getting bigger. They are no longer at the small pinhead size. Still thousands left though not big enough for feeding my Leo.
Breeding crickets is a continuous cycle. 1) so you can keep a supply of the size that you need. 2) because at about 6-8 weeks old they stop eating, laying eggs and start dying/stinking up the cricket cage.
Bought about 50 adult crickets. Put them in a container with another container with about 3 inches of dirt. Keep the dirt moist and you'll see yhe females start laying eggs. Keep temp. around 85F after 2-3weeks you'll see the pinheads start to emerge as they hatch. If you check out youtube for cricket breeding it's explained in numerous videos under cricket breeding.
