Crested gecko picky eater?

Geck-oh

Hey, I recently bought a new baby crested gecko. It was in a commercial pet store, that as usual did not care for him as they should have. He was raised his entire life on crickets. I got some CGD, but he wont touch it. I got him to lick it off my finger once or twice, but he just leaves the cap of it alone. I got him sunday, I have tried two caps of cgd. I just threw some small crickets in his cage and he went NUTS. I did dust the crickets. What can I do to change gis eating habits?

Keep offering it, and keep dabbing it on while he licks it off, he will get it eventually. In the meantime, gutload the crickets with CGD :)

Babies need a good amount of protein. So what I do is I keep cgd in the cage at all times they will eat it when they feel like it. I keep my little ones on crix too. And I gutload with laying chicken feed. I wet this down and let the crickets eat it. This Gives them a great protein and calcium content. It's a baby so he will start eating it more as he grows. As long as he's eating healthy though I wouldn't worry about it.

When switching a gecko from crickets only to just cgd or a mix of cgd and crickets I like to gutload the crickets with cgd and then before feeding coat them with cgd then sprinkle calcium on them. I find that they start taking cgd readily in a week week and a half this way
