Help with raising or breeding crickets

I need some information on breeding and caring for crickets. Is it easy. I have looked online but find the information somewhat confusing. Is it really necessary to have a 80 to 90 degree environment? I want to put them in the garage because of the odor but am afraid it will be too cold. It is getting expensive to buy crickets from the pet store. I am buying the 36 at a time every 5 days, the cost is about $30 per month. Mom and dad are going broke!

The baby and pinhead crickets do need to be kept warmer than the adults at about 90 degrees. The adults 75 to 80 degrees. The crickets don't start to stink until they are adults. Also they stink when they get to 6-8 weeks old and start to just drop dead due to old age ( dead crickets stink ). You could raise roaches which don't stink, make noise and live longer. You could raise them in a large plastic tub with a light bulb for heat. One problem I have when it gets cold is water condense on the inside of the tub, causing the cricket pop and dead crickets to stink. Condensing water needs to be avoided.

Breeding crickets is easy if you have the space and the temps. You need a breeding bin where the adult crickets will be stored and a small container within that container filled with soil, i use to use cocofiber it was cheap and easy to work with. depending on how many adult crickets are in the bin people normally leave the breed box in there about 4 weeks. change out the breed box with a new one with fresh soil. take the old one with the eggs and place it in a new bin and lightly mist the breed box. before you know it you will have pin heads bouncing all over. I use to keep them very warm and well fed. a dry chow daily was good and fruits and veggies regularly. I use reptile heat pads to heat all my bug bins.
