Best way to clean outdoor wood for repitle enclosure

Hey Guys,

So I have done my research and several people suggest boiling the wood as well as baking it in the oven.

Well last night I went out to the lake and got the biggest piece of beach wood I could find. This thing is going to be great in my enclosure but I would like to disinfect it first. I sanded down rough edges, removed pieces from the wood.

Now this piece of wood is massive. I cannot put it in a boiling pot, and I cannot fit it in the oven. Its almost 30inches long. Is there any suggestions on disinfecting this wood? I did spray the wood with a repitle cleaner and started scrubbing the wood with the cleaner to kill off any parasites.

If you haven't found help yet or anywhere else, I suggest a clear acrylic gloss, I use medium gloss. I don't want the wet shine, just a soft shine. I put on items to big to bake or boil. Just use a lot in the cracks an wedges an let it run down inside it'll dry clear and it'll also put some rock hard rigidness on small breakable or bendy parts.
