Grandis "talking" to each other?

I've never heard of this before, but I also had never heard it before, either... Until I got my grandis pair.

I seem to have a happy couple. My female has produced 4 batches of eggs this season without sustaining any damage whatsoever that I have heard they sometimes can if the male is too rough.

Sometimes I hear little noises, though... Usually it's at night. Since I'm hearing it right now, and can see my male, I don't think it's a side-effect from the mating process.
It's kind of like a series of low-pitched squeaks, if that makes any sense. With a bit of vibratto. Like a chortle-purr? I don't know how to explain it, and it's pretty quiet.

Has anybody else ever experienced anything like this?? :scratchhead:

One of my female grandis calls to me if I'm standing near the cage and she is expecting me to feed her and I don't (she's very impatient!). It sounds like a little "cluck", like the sound you make when you click your tongue against the roof of your mouth. Its funny because my other female has never done this. She is more shy.

Oh yeah, my little girl was calling to my mister bottle the other day because it makes a squeeking sound, I have a video of it- quite funny

I have heard them also vocalize when they are displeased or threatened. Probably the case with the mister, I had a female kochi vocalize at me whenever I opened the tank and she was near to depositing eggs.
