I've never heard of this before, but I also had never heard it before, either... Until I got my grandis pair.
I seem to have a happy couple. My female has produced 4 batches of eggs this season without sustaining any damage whatsoever that I have heard they sometimes can if the male is too rough.
Sometimes I hear little noises, though... Usually it's at night. Since I'm hearing it right now, and can see my male, I don't think it's a side-effect from the mating process.
It's kind of like a series of low-pitched squeaks, if that makes any sense. With a bit of vibratto. Like a chortle-purr? I don't know how to explain it, and it's pretty quiet.
Has anybody else ever experienced anything like this?? :scratchhead:
