Sick Tangerine Leopard Gecko? Again?!

Hi Everyone!

I have had a Tangerine Leopard Gecko for about a year and a half now and recently I've been noticing odd behavior from him. His name is Zippy.
After noticing this behavior of being both lethargic and not hungry for meal worms for several days after his shed, we brought him to the Reptile Vet and they administered him oral medication for possible pneumonia which we had to give him once a day for about 10-12 days (I forgot since it was a while ago). Towards the end of his cycle of administering the medication, he got much better and starting eating as well as having a lot more energy.

So, this brings me to my situation. Two days ago, Zippy shed as he normally does but even today he doesn't want to eat. He is also being really lethargic and just lying around all day, and night. I really hope this is not pneumonia AGAIN and would LOVE to get some input from all of you here!

Thanks and hope you can help out!

What did the vet prescribe him?

Also it's perfectly normal for a leopard gecko to not want to eat for several days after shedding. They sometimes need to poop out the shed after they eat them, since it's a huge meal with tons of protein. So it's a perfectly legit question from the above poster on whether he has enough heat to digest his food or not.

Does he have enough heat?

Hi SORROW89,
Yup Zippy has enough heat. On one side of the cage without the heating pad, it is around 28-29°Celsius and on the side with the heating pad, it can be up to 32°Celsius.
Appreciate your quick reply!

Hi Mardy!
First of all Zippy looks a lot like your profile picture in this forum :p . Thanks for the reasurement as to him not pooping yet. I guess he needs to digest it since it was a lot of skin. I forgot the name of the meds the doctor prescribed but all I remember is that she said to give 0.07cc per day mixed in with red gatorade. No other food while he is taking the medication.
Thanks!

Hi,

Your gecko needs a temp gradient of about 25C on the cool side (no higher) and warmer side 29C max air temp, 29-33C belly heat about the heat mat which should be controlled by a thermostat. Also make sure you are not handling him too frequently and when you do make sure it's not too cold in the room. Please read over the caresheet.
