I've seen some of the Tokay Experts say that when you first get one in it can take a while for it to show whatever normal coloration it has. I had one of my Tokays in a plastic enclosure that had tan walls. The coloration was like this-

This photo doesn't show the gecko coloration very well, but you can tell it has some amber/orange/tan coloration going on. I moved the gecko to a larger enclosure recently that has glass walls and the geckos overall color seemed to lose the amber/tan. Very nice Tokay anyhow:biggrin:

Agreed. You have a very nice normal Tokay. The blue headed background color is somewhat common.

Although the background may give rise to a color change in Tokay, so can temperature, time of day or year, level of stress and the presence of a mate.

One of the biggest changes for a newly acclimated Tokay on a good fortified diet is after their first couple of sheds. There can be some dramatic color shifts from the drab wild caught animal of just a few months ago.

Enjoy!
