First Baby Crestie Ever

So I picked up my very first Crested Gecko yesterday from the same breeder that I got my Leo, Gaia, from. I went to the Western Canadian Reptile Expo and it was fantastic. I also got to hold a baby AFT for the first time and they amazed me with how calm they are. He fell asleep in my hand!

Anyways, here is the new little one. :)

Thanks! I can't wait to be able to hold the little one. She is so tiny though I'd be afraid to hurt her or lose her. It takes me a couple of minutes of searching to find her in her KK every day, lol.

Haha same here! My little guy is in a 20gal cage, so he hides well! Lol. Can't wait for me to start handling him either :)

Such cool little pets.

Cute cresty, I have one that is two years old. I got a leachie gecko yesterday and he blends in perfectly with the cork bark, he's like a ghost.

They definitely are! I'm thinking about moving her into my 10 gallon I have for her sooner rather than later. Going to wait until she's more settled in though and is used to me. :)

Thanks! I would LOVE a Leachie, they're awsome. I saw a few at the Reptile Expo a couple weeks ago and I wanted one so badly, lol.

I also have recently gotten 2 cresties. I have already upgraded the tanks to 33 gal and 20 gal. The advice says keep cage size small but i have really noticed happier geckos in the 33 gal exo. My little one was in a 10 gal exo, not too happy. I put it in the 33 gal and plenty of activity and exploration. I then put the bigger one in the 33 gal and the little one in the 20 gal and again the little gecko is not too active. Now I an thinking of housing them together in the 33 gal but I just dont want to take a chance of someone losing a tail, too small to tell sex right now also .they are about 4mos and 5 mos old

Yeah. My cresty is goofy tho, i offer hides and stuff but she never uses them, same with my leo and leachie. All three of them have plenty of hides but nver use them. My leo just lays down out in the open over the heat matt during the day and moves around at night. My leachie always just sits oftenlly on a small piece of cardboard to keep his tank divider in place(hes so young i have him in 1/2 of a ten gallon, and my cresty just sleeps on the glass or under a hanging plant not in his hides.

Lol nice. My Leo spends most of her time in her humid hide during the day unless it's dried out.
My baby Crestie sleeps on the floor during the day and climbs up into the leaves in the evening and at night. :)

How does he look thin?
Babies are tiny but fill in quickly over time. Long as it is waiting and popping and at good temperatures, it will grow. One of my juvi cresties was a slow grower but has recently had a growth spurt and has certainly filled in.

Sajane and Pathology, I would watch their weights closely, It's been noted a lot that baby crested geckos can have issues finding food in larger enclosures.

And KTyne, your enclosure is set up perfectly for a small crestie. Does it use the bamboo tube often? Or does it like the bush more?

Hey i just got my crestie yesterday! He (I'M assuming he is a he) looks identical to yours!!!! Do you know what its safe to start handling. Mine is in a 12x12x18 and is super relaxed. Just not sure if i should handle him yet or not. It would only be for 30 seconds. What do you think?

She doesn't look skinny anymore and is a poop machine so I know she's eating a lot. She always has food in her enclosure.
She likes her leaves but she'll use the tube if she is trying to get away from my hand when I'm replacing her food dish, lol.

Here are some updated pictures of her. :)

I went to the Raleigh, NC show at the beginning of Sept. and fell in love with the dart frogs ---- but not the fruit flies that they eat. I'll stick with my cresties and RETF's.

When mine was smaller he was chunkier. I read that some people don't give them enough heat so they don't eat as much. I think the bin is too small to add heat. Like in a glass tank you can have one side coo and the other side warm. My crestie sleep in a log where it's 80-82 degrees.
