One of our snaller tokays escaped last night. Should i bother searching? There are sooo many places he could be! Idk how he even got out but i searched the tank top to bottom. Thanks
It never hurts to search. Also, you just never know when they might pop up. They are a hardy species and can live for quite some time in an indoor environment if they're healthy and strong to begin with. You may well flick the lights on one night to find him dashing up a wall or across the ceiling. Don't give up hope.
We lost a leo about 3 nonths ago and i am still searching in hopes that we will find it. Im 98% sure we will see it tonight after lights out if we wait till about 730 ish. Im worried ill reach into a cabnit and get bit. Been keeping a close eye on where our infant reaches his little hands!
It will be very hard to find them during the day. It is amazing the places that they will find to hide. They will be use to coming out after sunset/lights out. Wait till it gets dark just after sunset and turn the lights on and chances they will be out. Sunset / lights out means feeding time to them and will be the time they are most active and searching for food. I spent an hour trying to tie a piece of dental floss to a cricket. It only took a few seconds for the baby to eat the cricket. This was only done as a way to track the baby not catch it. After a minute I ended up with a piece of dental floss with a cricket leg attached to it.
look at night, check on the walls behind furniture. use a red light to look if possible. I have one male who is a bit of an escape artist and he often times goes behind the couch and in between the two sections of the couch...
